Jamaica Appeal Small Island Developing Countries Should Strengthen the Cooperation on Coping with Climate Change

Pickersgill, the minister of water conservancy, land, environment and climate change in Jamaica, said that he hopes small island developing countries should strengthen the cooperation on coping with climate change when he attended the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Caribbean area. He also pointed that climate change is tight related to the live problem of the human being, the society and economy development of a country, especially for small island developing countries.

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Summit will be held Brazil in Rio de Janeiro at June this year. “Green economy within the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication” is one theme among the conference, and Pickersgill hopes his appeal can be gained general support in the conference.
